About
Hello Everyone,
Thank you for visiting SibLink. My name is Lucas Correia, I’m a journalism student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and my brother Matt is on the autism spectrum.
I designed this site to give siblings of autistic individuals a chance to connect with each other. There are many resources for our brothers and sisters, and our parents, but we need one too! We, as siblings, all have a story to tell. If we all do our part to get our stories out, these stories will help spread awareness about autism, and as a result, increase understanding within our society.
When I first learned about my brother’s disability, something that gave me great comfort was finding out that I wasn’t alone. I hope the growth and progress of this site will reflect that. This site is a tribute to our strength, our maturity, and the lifestyle we’ve all grown up in. It’s also meant to serve as a reminder that we are not alone.
Hello, I have a 7 year old autistic son and a 5 year old typical daughter. I am looking for support for my daughter. Do you know of support options for a sibling age 5? I live in San Diego county.
Thank you for what you are doing for siblings.

Hi Jennifer,
Sorry I’ve taken so long to get back to you, I just wrapped up my semester yesterday.
Sadly, I can’t think of any kind of national program for siblings your daughter’s age (although there definitely should be). However, I do know someone in California who may be able to answer your question.
Are you familiar with Keri Bowers and her projects with Normal Films? She has a 20-year-old autistic son and a 13-year-old neurotypical son, and they’ve both made documentaries about their life experiences.
Keri’s a great resource, and she helped me get the word out about SibLink on the West Coast. I think she might be able to help you. If you shoot her an e-mail and tell her I referred you to her, I’m sure she’ll do what she can to answer your question.
Happy Holidays!
Lucas
